This interactive session focuses on the recruitment & retention of mentors and the resulting rewards. Attendees will leave with new ideas and tools as well as an understanding of the vital importance of this aspect of program building.
Development of Procedure Manual

An interactive workshop where the LINK team will share their experiences with creating and implementing program procedures for a program manual.
A School Based Mentoring Program for a Regional Summer Camp
Presenter: J. Paul Batson, Ed. D.
Camp War Eagle is a Christian Sports Camp fully sponsored by the Walton Family Foundation for underserved youth. Since the camp is regional, the Camp War Eagle Mentoring Program is a follow-up program designed to encourage campers all year long. Mentoring is just one of the follow-up programs that the camp offers to NW Arkansas youth.
Recruiting Mentors and Managing Large Numbers
Presenter: Regina Davis
This session will focus on recruitment and how to manage large numbers of mentors. Learn strategies from the Norfolk Public Schools Student Mentorship Program which has grown from 8 schools/200 mentors to 38 schools/1800 mentors since 2004.
Mentoring Children of Prisoners: Caregiver’s CHOICE
Presenter: Janet Forbush
This workshop will introduce participants to a new federally funded voucher initiative designed to expand mentoring opportunities for children of incarcerated parents. This initiative is funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services and administered by MENTOR.

The Essential Mentoring Ingredient: The Kitchen Table
Presenter: Dr. Ruth Connolly
Ruth uses humor to share her experiences in the mentoring community of how to get from the curb to the kitchen table.
Partnerships for Success: A Community Engagement Model
Presenters: Robin Kelley and Kathy Rich
Learn about the CAP (Child Advancement Project) that matches community volunteers with children grades K-12. Presentation includes interactive dialogue, group brainstorming and group exercises.
How to Breathe New Life into Your Program

Next Generation Mentoring: Effectively Weaving Technology into Your Mentoring Program
